Ellie & Scott’s Real Wedding at The Pumping Station | East Midlands

That’s what Ellie and Scott had to say once they’d received their wedding day photographs. I wanted my photographs to do justice to the affection that these two shared.

Their words were a reminder of why I love what I do.

With Ellie & Scott, I knew that I was capturing something truly special, something that would stand the test of time. The love between them was palpable, and the joy and affection they shared came through in so many little moments throughout the day.

Ellie and Scott's wedding at The Pumping Station was such a fun day to photograph. From the moments shared between the two of them to the time spent celebrating with their family and friends, there was plenty to capture throughout the day.

I took a documentary approach to much of the wedding, keeping an eye on what was happening around me and looking for those moments that are easy to miss when you're caught up in the day itself. Alongside the candid photographs, I also made time for portraits of Ellie and Scott, giving them a chance to have some photographs together without taking them away from their celebrations for too long.

One of my favourite things about photographing weddings is seeing all the different parts of a day come together in a gallery: the people, the little interactions, the big moments and everything in between. Looking back through Ellie and Scott's photographs brings those memories together into a record of their wedding day.
